I haven’t climbed Blaven but it’s definitely near the top of my list of Munros. My close friend Aiden has climbed to the summit and the views look incredible. At the top, you’re treated to truly stunning panoramic views of the Cuillin Ridge and down Glen Sligachan. I decided to draw Blaven so it’s in my head as a hike when I next venture west to Skye. Additionally, the rock architecture drew my interest. The layered spires looked challenging to draw and every time I saw a photograph of it from this angle, I imagined the whole face toppling over to the right.
