We spent a good amount of time in Wanaka. I’d return in a heartbeat. Laura and I both decided that if it wasn’t so far from Scotland, we’d move here. Roy’s Peak is a must for anyone travelling through the town. The start of the trail is just outside Wanaka which makes it a very popular hike. An early rise was essential, the walk was strenuous, especially when that NZ sun hits you. Well worth it for the views, just don’t do it in jandals.
